Anibal Claudino founded TORLYS with Fernando Luz in 1988 based on a dream. They wanted to create a personal and responsive company. The formula worked and TORLYS' customer base grew. In 1993 Anibal assumed the full time role of General Manager responsible for all day-to-day operations.

In 2001, TORLYS made a progressive and groundbreaking decision to offer only environmentally responsible products and eliminated all glue-down and nail-down products. Customers responded positively and Anibal was appointed Chief Operating Officer with overall responsibility for Operations and Finance.

Today, Anibal is performing two strategic roles:

1. As Vice President TORLYS International Operations, Anibal is carrying TORLYS' mission of customer responsiveness, product innovation and environmental responsibility overseas. In addition to the USA and Canada, TORLYS products can now be purchased in New Zealand, Portugal, Poland, the Middle East and, soon will be available in Switzerland.
2. In his second role as Chairman of the Board, Anibal works closely with the CEO and his core staff – the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), to create and implement TORLYS' strategic business development plans and corporate direction. He interacts extensively with division heads to provide leadership for all business activities, identifying potential risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.

Anibal has a 20 plus-year track record as a hands-on leader, grounding both new and seasoned Associates on the key fundamentals and values that are both the origin of the company's success and the core of today's global company.

Along with his wife Cindy, Anibal enjoys travelling, gardening, woodworking, HGTV and is passionate about tracking the stock market. Another passion of Anibal's is taking long walks with his dog “Contessa”.
