Laminate >> Décor Tips
|
|
|
| " Laminate floors are my favourite type of floors, I have them in my own house. What's nice about them |
 |
is that they are durable. High-heel shoes don’t dent laminate like they would a soft wood and it comes in every finish to look like real wood.

Ready to shop for a new floor? Let TORLYS Décor Consultants guide you through this process.
1. Casual Décor Style: Bevelled-edge planks with textured surfaces create an "easy living" feel. You may consider a richly textured laminate for a casual family room - the heavier the grain, the more Casual the look.
2. Traditional Décor Style: Rich, deep tones and natural variations of Jatoba or Merbau, enrich a more traditional decor.
3. Modern Décor Style: Minimal grain work best for a clean, simple look. Consider Maple, Beech or Cherry.
4. To give your floor more definition select a Provence product featuring a 4 sided Bevelled edge.

5. For a smooth look and seamless appearance, select a product with square edge detail such as Park Lane, Clix, Classic Mainstreet, or Quadra.
6. The key to achieving the "lived-in" look is by layering colors and textures, mixing old with new, and choosing well-worn or handmade materials wherever possible. Recessed bevel edge, will give the look of a hand-scraped floor.
7. Lighter colors of laminate flooring help small rooms appear larger; while rich, dark tones add drama to large rooms to create a warmer, more intimate feel.
8. For rooms with plenty of natural light, consider some of the darker tones available in laminate flooring. If the room doesn't have a lot of natural light, you can lighten it up considerably by choosing a lighter colour floor.
9. You can visually expand the size of your room by selecting a strip floor from Mainstreet collection, while a plank floor such as the Uptown collection, enhances a larger room.
