TORLYS Cork floors are made from the bark of the Cork Oak tree. The bark is carefully harvested every nine years, and regrows. Harvesting the bark does not harm the Cork Oak. These trees, which are pivotal in preventing the Southwestern Iberian Peninsula from becoming a desert, live up to 200 years. Cork is made of 50% air and is a natural insulator -- both thermal and acoustic. Cork is hypoallergenic, and naturally fire retardant.

TORLYS Leather floors are made from 100% recycled leather, such as the unused trimmings from the manufacture of leather belts, jackets and footware which otherwise would have ended up in landfills. TORLYS Leather floors are formaldehyde-free and have the lowest levels of VOCs.

 
TORLYS Laminate floors are also engineered from natural products:  wood fibre, paper and resin. There are no harmful formaldehyde emissions from TORLYS Laminate.

With TORLYS Hardwood, up to 30 times more flooring is produced from a single tree. TORLYS Hardwood and the softwood veneer backing layer are sourced from managed forests.
